2nd Faculty of Medicine is closely interconnected with Motol University Hospital, within whose grounds it also resides. Most of the clinical subjects are taught in Motol University Hospital and majority of the incoming students get their placements there. A few departments reside in other Prague hospitals which the faculty cooperates with namely Bulovka University Hospital and Central Military Hospital, thus some of the students can have their placements there as well.

About the hospital
Motol Faculty Hospital is not only the biggest hospital in the Czech Republic, but also among the largest health care complexes in Europe.

A wide spectrum of departments covers almost every common problem in health care including specialized and super-specialized care. For many medical institutions in the Czech Republic, Motol serves as the place to turn to when presented a case that is beyond their capabilities. Thanks to significant specialization in some departments, especially the pediatric part, the Motol University hospital has become a destination for foreign patients as well. This has made it a medical institution known and appreciated world-wide, and one that fully satisfies world class demands for care of the patient.

The Motol University hospital also serves as a learning centre for the Charles University in Prague.

Important info
You will be required to have your ID with you at all times in the hospital. Without it you may not be allowed inside the wards.
Concerning the dresscode - whitecoat is mandatory as well as indoors shoes (preferrably closed types of shoes, meaning no flip-flops etc., this is quite strictly followed especially in all the surgical specializations), in some departments you are expected to wear white hospital clothes (both white top and trousers). You will be provided with special clothes for the operating theatre when visiting operations in all the surgical departments.
If not dressed all-in-white, smart clothes under the white coat is NOT mandatory.
