Incomings :: LF2 :: Dormitories
Lodging for incoming students of the 2nd Medical School, Charles University, Prague
Accomodation is provided by the Charles University at one of the university dormitories, mostly the "Kajetanka" dorm located in Praha 6 - Brevnov district. There are 2 buildings, each of them divided into 2 blocks (Kajetanka K1A + K1B and Kajetanka K2A + K2B).

Accomodation office
- can be found on the ground floor of K1A. You can contact them in case you need to un-/book extra nights or extra rooms (for your visiting friends/family/significant others). Please bear in mind that during the summer holidat the dorm is quite full with visitors and there might not be extra room available!

Getting to the dormitory:
from the international airport Ruzyne (takes about 35-40 min)
- bus 119 to "Dejvicka" (end station),
- bus 180: from "Kafkova" (same as "Dejvicka" .. see map) to the "Kajetanka" bus station
from the railway station "Praha - hlavni nadrazi" (the main railways station) and the "Holesovice - nadrazi" (international railway station and a junction). (takes about 30 min)
- metro line C (red) to station "Muzeum"
- metro line A (green): from "Muzeum" to "Hradcanska"
- bus 108 or 174: from "Hradcanska" to the "Kajetanka" bus station
from the main bus station "Praha - Florenc" (takes about 30 min)
- tram 8 or combination of metro B+A / C+A : from Florenc to "Hradcanska"
- bus 108 or 174: from "Hradcanska" to "Kajetanka"
Going to the hospital / city centre:
Kajetanka has a very convenient position from which you can easily get to the university hospital in Motol and or the city centre.
to the hospital: simply take the bus 174 or 180 from the "Kajetanka" bus station to "Nemocnice Motol" station (3 stops - 8 minutes)
to the city centre: your best shot is to take bus 174, 108 (to the "Hradcanska" metro station) or 180 (to "Dejvicka" metro station) from there you can get anywhere in the city very fast
If you're not in a rush, try the tram no. 22 from "Drinopol" tram station towards the city centre and get off anywhere you like (we suggest "Malostranska", "Malostranske namesti", "Ujezd", "Narodni divadlo" or "Narodni trida" depending on where you want to go after!).

The room
There are single (1) and double (2) rooms available. Two rooms always form up a cell: 1+2 in K1 and 2+2 in K2. Each cell has a bathroom, toilet, and a fridge. There is a shared kitchen at your disposal on each floor (K1) or a small cooking area available in each room (K2). All rooms are equipped with landline (free calls in the dormitory network) and internet connection (you have to bring your own cable!). Facilities
I-room (computer room - opened from October to June on daily basis from 18-24h), TV room, fitness room, ping-pong room, common room, a study and laundry with washing machines are all available at the dormitory. You can also visit the Biograf Kajetanka (more or less regular screening of movies in the common room).
Boarding
From Monday to Friday you can get a lunch in the student canteen at the dorm (opened October to June) or buy baguettes at the reception
There is a supermarket as well as several restaurants (pizzeria, chineese fastfood, czech pub+restaurant) within a very convenient short-walking distance from the dormitory.
