Where to go to trip?
Hradec Kralove is the town with many interesting places to visit. For lovers of history, there is beautiful historical centre with White tower from 16th century – there is lovely view to the countryside from the top. There are many events during the year – Jazz festival in October, Theatre of European regions at the end of June, Hip hop camp in August and many others. For funs of sport, both active and passive, there is a wide range of possibilities where to go. Football and hockey stadium, tennis courts, aquacentrum, squash, bowling etc. In Hradec Kralove are also many cinemas, bars, discos.

WHITE TOWER
Former the renaissance bell tower completed in 1589. There is situated the second biggest bell in
Bohemia, called St. Augustine. With its unusual timekeeping system where longer minute hand shows hours and shorter hand shows minutes. The White tower becomes top-tourist city attraction. The tower is 71.5metres high. From the top you have a wonderful view of Hradec Kralove and its surroundings. Its name derives from the material used – white stone.

MUSEUM OF EASTERN BOHEMIA
The monumental museum building, national cultural landmark, was realised according to the project of the architect Jan Kotera in 1909 - 1912. There are two city models: so-called Zaloudek´s shows the city at the time of a military stronghold and the city model from the year 2000.

GIANT AQUARIUM
With the underwater tunnel offers its visitors a direct encounter with tropical nature. You will also find there sport facilities with a ricochet court, sauna and fitness centre.

MUSEUM OF AVIATION
Is being constructed at the airport in Vekose district. There the visitors will learn more about the aviation history in the Bohemia. If the weather is good, you can also see the performance of so-called Flying Circus.

ELBE STEAMERS
Unique steamers such as Primator and Queen Eliska or Pirate’s sailing boat drift along the waters of the Elbe River. The one-hour sightseeing cruise provides an unusual view of Hradec Kralove´s landmarks and the romantic corners of the Elbe riverbanks.

BOTANICAL GARDEN OF MEDICAL PLANTS
Was founded as an education centre at the same time as the Faculty of Pharmaceutics of the Charles University in 1969. The areas are divided into several sections: learning, botanical,

GALLERY OF MODERN ART

CITY SPA - AQUACENTRE
Is the significant monument of the urban architecture of the 30´s of the last century. There is aquapark with many attractions and simulated waves. For visiting there is also 50´ meter swimming pool, pool for small children, sweat room, steam room and other water attractions are avalilable here.

JIRASEK´S GARDENS
The gardens are situated on a triangular area bounded by the confluence of the Elbe and Orlice rivers. You will find there a number of rare tree species, the rests of the military fortification and St. Nicolas wooden Church from the beginning of the16th century.

WALKING ROUTES THROUGHT THE CITY
The first tour starts in front of the White Tower, second one in front of the Museum of Eastern
Bohemia. There is a total of 24 informative stops on the walking routes. For better orientation
the routes have the arrows on the pavement kerbs. The total duration of the walk is approx.90
and 120 min.

THE CATHEDRAL OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
This gothic brick building is one of the most significant monuments in Hradec Králové and it was built in the 14th century.

suggestions, many other good restaurants are not mentioned.
Restaurant Panonia (mainly Slovak cuisine), U Rytire(At the Knight), Kavarna u Knihomola(Caffe bar at the Bookworm), U dvora, restaurant in the hospital (it is brand new and it is very popular with many Czech students), Canteen in the dormitory and many others. Or you can order food by phone and it will be delivered to the dormitory.

There is a large shopping centre FUTURUM close to the hotel where the students can shop and find their needs. There you can find a variety of the restaurants, fastfoods and groceries. There is also multicinema (www.cinestar.cz), hairdresser's, Vodafone, O2, T-mobile, bowling, chemists and others. The position of the shopping centre you can see on the map (red circle).
Where to go in the evening
Hradec Kralove is full of possibilities of how to spend your evening time. Just for example – Event club, Podvobraz („Under the table“), R&B club, Press club, Avion, Orient disco, Bohemia disco and many others.
The most famous bar (disco) for the students is fortunately near the dormitory (hostel). It names EVENT. It is open except Sunday and Monday. It is situated on the right side from the entrance to the dormitory. Go along the main road still straight on about three minutes. After the bridge you will see the Event on the right side.
