Accommodation

International students from IFMSA are housed during the clerkship in the student´s dormitory Na Kotli. Most of the Czech medical students stay here, however, it is almost vacant during the summer holiday. This place is called Hotel Garni. It is about fifteen minutes walking from the hospital.

The Na Kotli hall of residence primarily offers double rooms, but also has triple and quadruple rooms with shared bathroom and toilet facilities on each floor where rooms are located. You don’t have to bring the bed sheets, you’ll get them here. But bring your towels. There is also a kitchen with a fridge on every floor. Unfortunately, there is no cookware available in the dormitory, bring at least the basic things for yourself. There are no telephones in the rooms, but phones for incoming calls are located in the corridors, and ones for outgoing calls in the entrance of the third block. Recently most of the rooms were wired to allow Internet access. Students who are interested in this service must bring their own computer. Students can avail of table tennis facilities, a television room, two laundry rooms and a drying room, as well as a college club and a gym.

There is a health centre for students at the Na Kotli hall of residence, including a dental surgery. Furthermore, there is a canteen and snack bar on campus, which serves all university students in Hradec Kralove.

Boarding

IFMSA Hradec Kralove provides the students either with one hot meal per day. Students use the hospital canteen. They can choose one from 5 offered meal (there is always one vegetarian meal). They can order their food on the web in advance.

Internet

You can connect to the Internet at several places: at school, hospital, school hostel which is free and of course at internet cafés in town.

For the access you will need the ISIC card, which must be activated by our secretary. (If you don’t have the ISIC card, you can get the ISIC or another student card in the dormitory- it costs about 200 Czech crowns).

Hospital – the Internet room is situated in 2nd floor, in Education centre

School – two Internet rooms are at Biophysics department, 2nd floor, you can use the printer,
but you will have to pay it first at Biophysics secretary

School hostel – the room is at 2nd floor, building A4 (the last one on the left side). You must
ask for the keys at receptionist, you have to put it back until midnight - for this kind of
connection to Internet you need a special login and password. You get it from your resident,
from the person who will take care of you.

For EduRoam users there is possibility to connect via WIFI to the EduRoam at the following locations: Education Centre at the Faculty hospital, Student´s dormitory Na Kotli and building of the Faculty of medicine. (Eduroam logo is property of TERENA)

In town - in many restaurants and caffe bars is available free WIFI connection.
