About IFMSA
- IFMSA - International Federation of Medical Students Associations is independent nonpolitical organization connecting 105 organizations in 95 different countries
- It has been founded in may 1951as a result of a postwar wave of student's friendship.
- Its affiliated to UN and WHO as a forum of students of medicine.
- Aim of IFMSA is to support international cooperation in a professional education and to spread the humane ideals.
- IFMSA provides to students opportunity to influence the praxes and research in medicine.
Vision
High-quality of untroubled cooperation of medical students on national and international level, including help, cognition and education themselves from each other, which influenced as them as well as the quality and accessibility of health care not just locally but also globally.
Mission
To facilitate the opportunity to get familiar with the system of providing health care in different countries of the world, gather the experiences for future career, find social and cultural differences to the largest group of medical students as possible and at once contribute to improvement of local and global health by spreading the informations by lectures, top-quality seminars and targeted cultural-cognitional projects.
Structure
The activities of the IFMSA are controlled by the standing committees on different spheres:
SCOPE a SCORE- standing committee on student's exchanges (professional, research)
SCOPH - standing committee on public health (prevention of )
SCORA - standing committee on reproductive health and AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases
SCORP - standing committee on human rights and peace
SCOME - standing committee on medical education
Every standing committee is in every country represented by one national coordinator and in every faculty, which is interested in project, also represented by local coordinator. These standing committees coordinate various programs and preventive or humanitarian projects. Besides monthly exchanges (every year exchange about 6000 medical students from the whole world) among most well known projects belong TB Survey, Culcutta Village Project, Teddy Bear Hospital, Romania Orphanage Project and others. Every year IFMSA organizes many seminars, summer schools and trainings

IFMSA in Czech Republic
In Czech Republic is IFMSA represented by IFMSA Czech Republic (IFMSA CZ) which work on every of seven faculties of medicine (Prague, Plzen, Olomouc, Brno, Hradec Kralove) At the head of IFMSA is executive board, which consist of president, economist, national coordinators for clinical (NEO) and professional exchanges (NORE) and coordinator for projects (NOP). The highest authority is general assembly, which consists of members of IFMSA CZ and takes a place twice a year.
The member of IFMSA CZ could become every medical student who ask for it. The membership is voluntarily and it´s free of charge. The membership allow student to attend residency or get involved in different projects.The membership automatically expire after sixth month after finishing studies.
